The Goodman Community Center is proud to host a variety of activities for people of all ages in our community. Our activities calendar lists special events or ongoing activities outside of our regular programming. Use the fitness center to stay in shape or get in shape. Annual memberships are $225 for adults and $175 for seniors over 60. Six month memberships are $150. for adults and $100 for seniors. Convenience cards for 26 uses are available for $81.25 and 10 use passes are $32.50.

City accredited state licensed childcare.  There is currently a waiting list. Our program is based on a creative curriculum that is child directed and play based.

Pick up by 5:30 pm is the parent's responsibility. Accepts full time and part time enrollment.

Age requirements: Must be 3 years old

Registration required: Yes. Enrollment application required. Available at the GCC reception desk.

5:30 PM-7:00 PM MEDIAWORKS, Digital Media Workshop

MEDIAWORKS pairs Madison creative communications professionals with teens interested in the arts. Our focus is video and music production, a burgeoning industry that requires skills from a vast array of artistic professions and careers. Students will explore their creativity in a fun, fast-paced environment.

Closings > Does not meet during MMSD school breaks or holidays. No class on days when GCC is closed.

Location: MEDIAWORKS Lab in gym building

Ages: High School Students

Fee: Free

Registration required: Yes. Forms will be filled out the first day of class.

8:45 PM-10:30 PM Soccer: Indoor Co-ed 5-on-5

Wednesdays, ongoing, October 13-May 11

7:30 AM-11:00 AM 4K, Morning 4-year old Kindergarten LICENSED

We are a community site for the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) 4 year old Kindergarten (4K) program. As a public school program, there is no tuition. There is an AM and PM 4K program as well as extended care available.

Fridays 3-5pm: Activities just for fun. Movies, gym time with staff, and field trips. Shuttle to Metro east and north bus transfer shelters available with parent permission.

Saturdays 1-5pm: Drop-in only. Includes computer lab, skateboarding, video games and quality time with staff. No transportation on Saturdays.

Dinner: Served 4:30 Mondays through Thursdays.

Special programming may be available on days when school is out. Space may be limited. Check it out!

6:30 PM-8:00 PM Buddhist Philosophy, Slogans for Living

Each week the group will review one Buddhist slogan and discuss how to apply it to daily life.

Zumba combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system. Exercise and learn Zumba with instructor Megan Barry

9:00 AM-10:00 AM Five Minute Chair Massage

Five minute chair massage by Dr. Ron India, chiropractor. Free. Arrive early for this popular service.

Work on stretching and range of motion exercises. Exercises can be done either standing or sitting in a chair.

11:30 AM-12:45 PM Senior Lunch - Dane County Nutrition Site

Goodman Community Center is a Dane County Nutrition Site.  Doors open at 10am to read the paper, play games, socialize and enjoy time with friends. 11:30 is the suggested arrival time for all seniors who want to enjoy the meal. At 11:40 tossed salad is served and the entree is served at noon. Activities to follow. Transportation is available through Dane County. Contact Marlene the day before you'd like transportation.

2:45 PM-5:30 PM Afterschool Childcare, LICENSED

Afterschool programming for youth attending Lowell, Emerson, Marquette and Lapham elementary schools.  Children are transported from Lowell and Emerson in a MMSD bus and from Marquette and Lapham in GCC vans.  Pick up by 5:30 pm is the parent's responsibility.

Everyone who needs food is welcome to visit our food pantry once a week. First visit? Bring identification for every household member. First come, first served.

Important: The food pantry is closed when the Goodman Community Center is closed.

Taught by Luv Joy Seamon. Students will work on climbing techniques, footlocks, and basic standing sequences from the footlock, the straddle, and the same side hook. We will also use the silks as a sling to teach some of the basic techniques.

Ages: 10 and up through adults.

Fee: $100 for the 6 week session. Drop-in enrollment available for $18.50/class, but priority will go to those who are enrolling for the whole session.

3:30 PM-6:30 PM Boyz Invasion, 8th and 9th Grade

Programming offers boys movies, volunteer projects, recreation, discussions, education, health and fitness, community service, and leadership opportunities. Dinner is served at 5:00 pm.

Ages: 8th-9th grade

Sign up for a half-hour slot for help with any high school subject, introductory level college course and/or Microsoft software.

IMPORTANT: Schedule updates are not made in this calendar. No class when GCC is closed. Contact the Lussier LOFT for questions about changes from the normal schedule.

4:45 PM-6:00 PM Low Flying Trapeze, Intro

With Marcia Miquelon. We'll be spinning, flying and dangling from single-point, low-flying trapezes and other aerial apparatus. After learning/reviewing the basics, we will set up learning, play and practice structures which pose new challenges for all experience levels. 

Ages: Teens / Adults

Fee: $120 for 8 week session.
